problem
Identifying the most fitting YouTuber for brand endorsement is a struggle for many companies.
Many companies struggle to find the best-fitting YouTuber for brand endorsement. They would have to go through rigorous and meticulous research to find the right YouTuber. The hours and resources spent to find the right YouTuber for their brand are very challenging.
design challenge
How might we help brands/companies discover the most fitting YouTuber for their companies with just a few clicks?
solution
CreatorCheck: A new search engine web platform that helps companies/brands find the most fitting YouTuber for brand endorsement.
The homepage showcases the search engine. Users simply describe what they are into or what they are looking for. For instance, I sell luxury stiletto heels for tall women.
Details of the YouTuber
Users would see details about any YouTuber that fits their brand. CreatorCheck has an algorithm that analyzes a YouTuber channel and provides a Safety Score which shows a YouTuber’s credibility. Users can also know the YouTuber’s Identity and Address verification status.

How did I end up with this solution
I focused on how to design an experience that would address the pain points I found through my user research.

Interviews revealed 2 key insights
The project manager interviewed 5 top brand agencies to assist brands/companies in finding the ideal YouTuber. Brand agencies help brands/companies find the perfect YouTuber for their brands/companies The interviews were visually conducted through a platform called Vowel, allowing me to thoroughly and carefully observe and analyze each interview. Consequently, I identified 2 significant insights.
key insights/takeaways
Time-consuming to find the best fit
Finding the right YouTuber for a brand can be a time-consuming process. Certain companies or brands may require a YouTuber who has a specific number of subscribers and works in a particular industry. It is also important to ensure that the YouTuber is verified to avoid any potential harm to the brand or company's image.
Verifying YouTubers is challenging
Verifying a Youtuber can be challenging for brands as they need to ensure the absence of negative elements like racial slurs, profanities, political slanders, adult content, and more. On some occasions, brands fail to thoroughly analyze a YouTuber's complete content, resulting in the possibility of partnering with a YouTuber who has previously shared inappropriate material that goes against the brand's image.
design opportunities
How can I translate the key insights into design opportunities?
How can we make searching for YouTubers become seamless?
I spent a lot of time studying the top search engine platforms such as google.com and qwant.com. These platforms are simple and intuitive to use by users.
Having a search engine that is similar to google.com, would enable users to know how to use the platform easily.
The main goal of this design opportunity is to ensure that users(brands) are able to search for their potential brand ambassadors easily and quickly.
How can we display a YouTuber’s credibility?
This is the most important feature of the platform. Users should be able to know if a YouTuber is credible or not with just a click.
Safety Score (YouTuber’s Credibility) is displayed in such a manner that would ensure that every user of the platform would know a YouTuber’s credibility easily. YouTubers' safety scores are calculated by analyzing profanity frequency and severity.
The main goal of this design opportunity is to ensure that users are able to know the essential details of their potential brand ambassador before making a decision.
Essential details include; the number of subscribers, country location, pros and cons of the YouTube channel, identity & address verification status, relevant videos and most importantly, safety score (YouTuber’s credibility)
User experience
User testing phase
This is a user experience of how our customers should be able to use the platform. Our aim is to ensure that our users have an awesome, smooth and seamless experience while searching for a brand ambassador for their clients.

Product goal
The user pain points have been addressed. But I wanted CreatorCheck to actually be viable...
How could it be monetized?
monetization strategy
Subscription plans package
Since the platform has been able to successfully solve a common challenge faced by brand agencies or individuals searching for the perfect YouTubers for their brands in a fast and easy manner, there should be some monetary reward for the service provided.
I have developed three(3) subscription plans which are Free($0/month), Starter($19/month) and Premium($79/month) plans. Each plans have their benefits. In order for users to be able to fully utitize the platform they would have to upgrade their plans to enjoy the services which the platform provides.

Concluding Remarks
What I learned
It was my first time as a Product Designer, and I found it exciting to consider both the users' perspective and the product's viability. This was a new experience for me, as previously I had only been responsible for research and design, with a limited role.
During this project, I learned just how vital communication is in the design thinking process and in the iteration process. For instance, I would watch the interviews of our potential customers (brand agencies and brand agents) with my product manager (Co-Founder), understand the users’ perspective and try to communicate my design decisions based on the users’ perspective with the team before moving forward with the design process.
Additionally, I learned the significance of feedback in the design process and how user-centred designs result in the best final product. Our potential clients provided us with valuable feedback, leading to numerous iterations in the design process. I am pleased to say that in the end, all of our potential clients were satisfied with the final product.
Future Plans
There are future plans to enhance this project and create a platform that serves as a comprehensive tool for checking a Creator's status across all social media platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly known as Twitter). As you may have already noticed, TikTok is the next platform on our integration list. We have to wait and assess the performance of the platform before proceeding with the integration of TikTok's analytics into the platform.
As a user-centred product designer, my focus is on improving the platform's user experience. In the coming 3-6 months, I will conduct research to gain insights into how users interact with the platform, with the goal of enhancing their experience.
